We met with our new ENT today. Megan's third in her 4.5 years of life. The lack of continuity in Megan's medical care is yet another causality of the nomadic life we have been living.
But our new doctor is very nice and seems very competent. She thinks the adenoids definitely need to come out, Megan might need another set of tubes, and the tonsils can probably stay - it is up to us to decide. We have a hearing test and a pre-op consult scheduled for January.
The tonsils are going to be a tough decision. The recovery from a tonsillectomy is supposedly pretty rough - there is more pain and possibility of post-op bleeding. And Megan is borderline, her tonsils are in the middle, a 2 on a scale from 0 to 4.
Part of me wants to yank everything out that might be a problem. But I don't want to cause Megan unnecessary pain. But I don't want to be back at the ENT for tonsils a 8 months from now.
Hopefully a path will become clear.
