The sound of music

A couple weeks ago one of Maura's co-workers sent out a message asking if anyone wanted their piano. We'd been talking about getting one off and on for a while, and this seemed like a great opportunity, so we jumped on it.

The original plan was to rent a truck and cajole some friends into helping us move it, but it turned out that this is a big moving in day for college students, and there wasn't one to be had nearby. Instead we went with a local company called South Bay Piano Movers who finished the whole job in about a half hour (including transit). I gather it's all about the dolly, and apparently they've got the right one.

So, we're now the proud owners of a "The Sting" upright piano by Aeolian. It's not just any piano - it's a player piano, with all this pneumatic stuff inside to drive the keys. We got about 50 rolls, and tried a bunch of them today. Megan really likes the one with music from Annie - the words are printed on the roll and she's been singing along.
