I took Megan to the ENT today. Her predictable back to school cold morphed into the predictable sinus-y type infection. At the end of last week, I was hoping that she would be able to fend if off herself. But alas, she was not.
Our regular doctor wasn't available, so we had to see a new guy. And he was fantastic. Megan in general, is amazingly co-operative with doctors. But Dr Cousins took it too a new level. Hewas able to stick this long flexible camera down her nose to look at her overly large adenoids. And at the end she thought it was cool!
The adenoids, by the way, are 75% obstructive and have yellow pus. For that she wins a 10 course of Omnicef (one of my favorite antibiotics - and let us all take a moment to think about how sad it is that I have a favorite antibiotics.) And we also get 28 days of a nose squirt thing.
I think that we are going to end up with her adenoids removed. And my impatient self wants to schedule the procedure for last week. But we are still supposed to hope that she will outgrow these issues. It should be interesting to see what kind of different the climate change will bring.
Which reminds me - must make sure that I find a California pediatrician and ENT ASAP.
