Maura and the kids have just gotten on the plane to take them back East for the yearly summer pilgrimage home. What started out being a leisurely airport drop-off turned hectic at the last minute when Maura realized she'd left her backpack at home. So, instead of me helping bring the pile of luggage and kids into the terminal, I had to ditch them in the parking garage and race back to get it.
In the end, I retrieved it in time, and everything worked out fine. Maura even said it was the easiest she's ever had it going through security.
Unfortunately, I'm still in CA, because work has been crazy and I can't really spend 5 weeks working out of NY. I'm hoping to pin down a plan to join them soon.
