A dry night

Megan had a dry night last night!

In the rush to get on the road, I forgot to pack a pull-up for our day trip to Bryan's parents yesterday. Megan declined to wear one of Riley's diapers, because she is 4 and doesn't wear diapers anymore. Since a pull-up was unavailable and a diaper unacceptable, she went au natural.

In some ways I blame myself - I didn't let her have pull-ups when she was little. They cost more than diapers, and perform the same function. And my thrifty self couldn't bear to buy them, even though Megan wanted them badly.

And, in someways I blame my mother. It was my mother who told me to just buy Megan the pull-ups. I think the argument was something to the effect that since she wanted them so badly, she wouldn't pee in them. But that backfired, since she loves to pee in her pull-ups.

Megan loves having pull-ups, because that is what big girls wear. I haven't figured out a way to make her understand that pull-ups are a type of diaper. If she believed that, she would be done with them in a heartbeat.

But back to the headline.

Since we forgot the pull-up, the plan was to put one on her when we got home. But Bryan forgot. And Megan stayed dry. We were so excited this morning. Or rather Bryan and I were excited. Megan seemed a little sad. I suspect we aren't actually anywhere near being done with pullups.
