Maura is back to work, while the rest of us are still vacationing, so I'm watching the kids for the first part of this week. Yesterday we basically just bummed around the house, getting out only to do a present return. In the afternoon we did some blitz cleaning of the family room, which was satisfying (to me, at least, the kids were less enthusiastic).
This morning, presumably to balance the cleaning, Megan broke an ornament from the tree and Riley broke a stool. Later on we went out on an errand and got back in time for Riley's nap. He's howling as I write this.
Megan was also working on an activity book earlier today, but she used it up. She said she wanted to do some more connect-the-dots and coloring, and fortunately you can find a bunch for free online. Her comment as I was looking for them: "Daddy, print out some coloring pages to keep me distracted. I need to always be distracted."
