Critter Cruise

For Riley's birthday, Grandma and Grandpa got him a Critter Cruise tour while we were out on Nantucket.  The basic idea is you go out on a boat and the crew pulls stuff up from lobster traps and puts it in bins on the deck so the kids can check out the creatures.  The idea is a little like the Schooner camp I went to when I was young.

On our boat they brought in some crabs, fish, and a lobster.  Megan and Riley were a little lukewarm when asked to touch the animals, but they still liked looking at them in the tanks.  I did eventually get them to touch the back of the lobster.

After hitting the traps, all the kids got a rod and reel so they could go fishing.  This is where they really got into it.  Riley caught 3 fish, and I think Megan got around 7 - every few seconds it seemed like she was pulling another one in.  It was quite a sight.  They both had lots of fun.  Thanks, Grandma & Grandpa!
