Checked into Hotel California

We have arrive in California, safe, reasonably sound and quite exhausted. (I think the details of the awful night in the airport hotel are best left unsaid.)

Our corporate housing is....ok. We are in a giant cookie cutter apartment complex, there is not much to distinguish one building from another. I actually spent almost half an hour this evening trying to find our assigned parking space, only to discover that I was in the wrong garage.

I was looking for a parking space because I had gone out to the grocery store to stock up on supplies for our week in temp housing. At the grocery store I discovered that Pepperidge Farm is not a national brand (this could be a major issue, we might need to get some raisin bread airlifted in) and that you can buy wine at the grocery store! My Yankee heart nearly stopped.
