I sent Megan and Riley to back-up daycare (a.k.a. playschool - Megan will sternly correct you if you call it daycare) so I could unpack. But I was not as productive as I could have been. I spent a little too much time basking in being child-free.
But I will say that by mid afternoon I found that I was missing them. Missing the kids is such a novel experience for me. We are generally joined at the hip, together 24/7. I don't get a chance to miss them.
But I don't think that they missed me. Megan loved going to playschool. She couldn't stop talking about it. Riley had fun too. That I until I picked him up. Then he suddenly realized that I had left him and he was upset.
I'm glad that Riley enjoyed most of his time at daycare. We get 5 days a year, and I plan on using all of them. :)
