Future Soccer Star?

We signed Megan up for soccer today. It was a typically over complicated experience.

First I went to the place where they played the games, instead of the place where they did registration.

Then I found the registration site, but didn't have a copy of Megan's birth certificate or passport.

Then I had to call my mother to see if she could dig up a the copy of Megan's passport I e-mailed her. (Must buy the printer-copier-scanner that Bryan's dad wanted me to have for Christmas.)

Then, I got shanghaied in to signing up for a volunteer activity before we were allowed to register.

But it is done, and sometime in March, we will hear from the coach. And in April, Megan will be playing soccer. We hope she likes it.

Bryan and I talking in the car about our experience of childhood soccer. Turns out neither one of us really liked it. My strongest memories are are being the awkward kid that no one really wanted out on the field. But I sill maintain that it was a valuable experience. And one I thought important enough to spend all afternoon jumping through hoops to procure.

But if she truly doesn't like it, we aren't going to make her play until High School, the way I had to. If soccer doesn't work out, we'll find something else.
