Barack the Vote

Last night, we let Megan stay up to watch the presidential election declared for Barack Obama.  I don't know it she will remember it when she is older, but I hope she does.  To me this election feels like a bright line in history, one of those moments that clearly mark a time before and after after. 

Megan enjoyed the spectacle, although I don't think that she fully understood all the information on the TV screen.  I explained as best I could, but frankly there is no easy way to explain the electoral college to a 5 year old.  Also, as far as Megan was concerned, Mr. Obama was already president.  Apparently he won the vote they did with some of the kindergartners, 48 to 6.
