We got to hear the heartbeat, which is a reassuring sign. According to the OB is means that everything is developing just as it should.
Dr. M, the OB is still a goofball. He doesn't seem to remember much about me, but he does remember where Bryan works and can't seem to stop making software development jokes. Plus, he pushed my pants down for the doppler before we even made eye contact. Not the worst offense in the world, it just makes me really miss my midwifery group back in Northampton.
Dr. M. did ask how I was feeling. And I told him that I was exhausted, but the nausea was abating (although today was a bad day and if Bryan hadn't jumped out of the way in time I would have thrown up my breakfast on him). Apparently but my blood work is fine and my iron levels are adequate to the fact that I am tired is just due to the fact that I am growing a person in my uterus.
I also found out that I have to repeat the glucose screen again at 26 weeks. Not what I wanted to hear, I really hate that test. But Dr. M is going to look into the possibility of using jellybeans rather than glucoloa.
We also got a referral for some genetic testing, since obstetrically speaking, I am as old as dirt. We are going to do a Nuchal Translucency Scan, which is low risk and non invasive. Because of the timing, it will have to be done next week.
