For the most part, her teeth are OK. Her loose tooth was pretty much covered in plaque, since she won't brush it. The hygienist was a bit surprised that that tooth was still in her mouth. She had never encounter a child as reluctant as Megan to have teeth fall out.
During the exam, Dr. K pointed out Megan's six year old molars to me. They are still emerging, and have the deep groves and pits that my teeth did. Poor Megan. On the bottom molar on the left side is an indentation in the tooth that is allowing food to get trapped below the gum line. Dr. K. said to try to brush more there, but we shouldn't be surprised if that tooth end up with a cavity.
At the end of the appointment, Megan got a sheet of Hello Kitty stickers, pink version of the fancy toothbrush Riley was given, and her own tiny toothpaste. They also gave her a flosser stick, that she thought was completely cool. The kid is excited to floss.
I don't ever remember to be this excited to brush my teeth.
