Riley @ The Dentist

Riley had his dental appointment. It took forvever, mostly because the Dentist (Dr. K - is it weird that so many of our medical professionals have last names that start with K?) were chatting. He has two kids, about the same age as Riley and Gavin. In fact last spring Megan's cleaning appointment got canceled at the last minute because his wife started her labor.

During the appointment, we were commiserating baby sleep (or the lack thereof) and talking about the Boston Area, since that is where he did his training. And meanwhile, Riley was laying on the exam bed, still as could be, letting Dr. K examine his mouth and scrape his teeth, and use the buzzy polishing brush. RIley is possibly the most co-operative kid ever, when it comes to medical professionals.

For his excellent behavior he got a dental goodie bag with a sheet of Transformer stickers, a tiny tube of bublegum toothpaste, and the most blinged up kids toothbrush I have ever seen. It lights up and the handle is like a snow globe, so you can shake it and the sparkles drift around. Riley desperately wanted to use it then and there, but I persuaded him that he had to wait until we got home that night.

Oh, and his teeth are fine.
