1

Today Gavin turned one.

And it is as if a timer went off in his body. Today he was standing by himself again and again. I hope that walking is not too far behind. We tried to get a picture of it, but weren't successful.

It was a low-key day. We have him presents in the morning; a cup with his name on it and a floaty thing for the pool, and some sidewalk chalk that his siblings appropriated). We had wanted to take him to Rancho San Antonio, and then to the pool, but the weather was a bit grim. (We have been having the coldest, wettest spring in California.)

We actually spent most of the morning rearranging Megan and Riley's room and the afternoon playing at home. And the afternoon was enliven by a bouquet of balloons that my sister send to Gavin. The kids had a blast playing with them.

And then I made Gavin a dinner of hot dogs and carrots and afterwards he got to have a blueberry birthday cake.

It was a really nice day and I think he enjoyed it.
