Kids By the Numbers

Back when Megan was a wee youngin' I made her a growth chart. We painted it with the stencil and colors from her room in Northampton, and have been tracking her vertical progress with it since. When Riley was born we added him to the chart, and now Gavin is on there, too.

Unfortunately, if you want to actually see the growth chart you'll have to visit it in person, as it's hard to get a good photograph of something that tall and skinny. If you just want to see the numbers, however, that's doable. I transcribed the heights and put them in the chart below for your easy consumption.

I included the median age as a point of reference, it is the average of the boys and girls stature-for-age data, which I got from the CDC. As you can see, the kids seem to hold their own until around 3, at which point the Horling height gene must kick in.

The raw data is also available for those of you that require greater precision.
