Strep II

Today when I brought the kids home from Appleseed, Megan started asking me when she was going to have her 6 year-old checkup.  I explained that I had just scheduled it for the end of May, when she would actually be 6.  But that wasn't good enough, she wanted to have it now.

After further questioning, it turned out that she didn't feel well.  Her throat hurt and her tummy hurt.  Which was odd, since she was fine in the morning.  But a sudden sore through and a belly ache are common sign of strep in children.  So as soon as Bryan came home I bundled her off to Pediatric Urgent.   An hour later she had a positive strep test and a prescription for amoxicillin.

This time I think we caught it early, since she was not nearly in the same bad shape as last time.  She has to be out of school tomorrow, but if she is up to it she may still be able to go to "Take Your Child to Work" with her dad.
