Saturday Round-Up

When Bryan told me that he really needed to get back to NY for a week, I went back to October to read through the entries I posted the last time he was away.

Man that was a crazy week.  Not only did I have all kinds of appointments (teacher conference, dentist, eye doctor) but I was newly pregnant and just starting to get smacked around by the worst morning (more like all day) sickness I have ever experienced.  This time around, I don't expect it to be so hard when he is away.

Today went pretty well.  Riley had gymnastics in the morning.  I was a little worried about how it would go, since I would have to bring Megan too and leave her in the lobby during his class.  But it turned out to be not a big deal at all.  Megan played on her Leapster the whole time.  And Riley had a good class.  It was really interesting to me to see how much he participates now, compared to the last class I took him in fall.

After gymnastics we popped by the grocery store and went home for lunch.  I put Riley down for a nap, but it took him a long time to fall asleep (as it has for the past few weeks, at home and at school).  I remember going through this with Megan, and it was not fun.  I don't like the nap shedding phase, it is so hard on everyone.

Eventually though, he did fall asleep.  A little after 4, I went to go wake him up and found this:That's right.  Riley stripped himself naked and then fell asleep.  When I finally found his clothes, his pants were a little wet, so I think his diaper leaked and he didn't like the feel of the damp pants.  But it was very surprising to find in not in the same state as I left him.

After Riley was up and clothed again, we took a quick walk in the neighborhood.  Megan was desperate to see the line the marked the Sunnyvale-Santa Clara border, which is about 10 feet from our house.  And after that it was dinner, bath and bed.

I need to come up with a plan for tomorrow.  The day goes by much faster if we all get out of the house for a couple of hours.
