Yay Riley

What you see above is the beginning of the end of diapers for Riley.

A few weeks ago, we asked his teachers at daycare if they could start taking him to the bathroom so he could see what the other kids were doing.  They were  little hesitant, as he was not showing any signs of readiness (or interest, really). But Bryan and I were very interested.

And that is what seemed to work with Megan.  She spent a couple of months tagging along with the bigger kids in bathroom, and she would try sitting.  Some time it work, sometimes it didn't.  And then one morning she wanted to wear underwear.  And that was it.

So we have real hopes that Riley will be out of daytime diapers soon.  But with him, underwear is going to be a challenge.  Megan loved clothes so much that she was dying to wear underwear.  But Riley is rather attached to his diapers.  But I have an ace in my pocket.  While scouring the web I found these.  If there is one thing that Riley loves, even more than his mother, it would be Wall•e.

If you know my feelings about the evils of licensed characters, you may be shocked that I would even consider Wall•e undies.  But frankly I have found that I am more than willing to compromise my ideals to get a kid out of diapers.  You would not believe what I have promised Megan if she ever stops needed a pull-up at night.
