To Megan's delight, the leprechauns chame to our house again and made the milk green. And the orange juice. And her oatmeal. And apparently they also visited her school and made green footprints leading to a pot of gold (rolos) in her classroom. The leprechauns were busy.
Megan has been very excited for St. Patrick's day for weeks now. She found last year's clothes in her drawers and has been wearing them during the weekends. She really wanted a St. Patrick's day dress, but we couldn't find one. So we compromised on me making her a St. Patricks day skirt. It is one crazy looking skirt. Aside from the patchwork shamrock pattern, there is also a sprinkling of gold glitter on it. The picture doesn't do it justice.
We also hade to have a special St. Patrick's Day dinner. At Megan's request we had green eggs and ham. But not the Dr. Seuss classic. Our family version of green eggs and hams is scrambled eggs with bits of ham or bacon mixed in. Colored green, it resembles vomit on a plate. But she absolutely loves it. Riley merely likes it and Bryan closes his eyes and eats it. I make myself my own dinner.
