It's a ....

boy!  Or at a least that is what the ultrasound tech thinks.  She said she saw "the legs and something between the legs."  I was surprised, because this pregnancy has been so similar to the one that I had with Megan, I was expecting a girl.
Here is the best picture we got.  I couldn't really see anything because the monitor was angled away from me and the tech kept moving me into weird positions to try to trick the baby into being still for a moment to she could make sure that he had a spine and other important body parts.  But it didn't really work because the baby kept bouncing all over the place. For a while, I thought we were going to have to come back a different day, but at the end she finally got to see what she needed to see.

After the ultrasound, we waited around for an hour for my OB appointment.  Which is not a hardship, because our medical practice has guest wireless access, so Bryan and I just worked on our laptops while we waited.  In the end, didn't get to see my doctor because he got held up in surgery.  We saw the nurse-practitioner instead.  Who was very nice, but I don't think that she does prenatal exams often.  She seemed a little out of her element with the belly measuring and doppler-ing.

But it was a good exam.  She thought I was measuring a little big.  But I think it was more that she didn't quite know what she was doing.  And we had just had the ultra-sound, so we knew that the baby was the right size.  And she was also concerned about my blood pressure, I think it was 137/72.  But she relaxed when she discovered that I had drank 12 oz of coffee  while sitting in the waiting room.  Although she did ask that I not do that before my next visit.

So things are looking good pregnancy-wise.  We go back in 4 weeks to see Dr. M again.  And this time we will see him since I made sure to book the appointment on a non-surgery day.
