Blue Towels

My brother Jeff recently sent Riley two (2!) packages recently both of which were full of blue surgical towels. (Both packages were sent to Riley because he actually will speak to Jeff on the phone, unlike Megan who makes a face. I could actually she her mulling the consequences of her choices as I explained why she didn't get a package.)

You might think that an envelope of surgical towels might not be the most exciting thing for a child to open. But Riley was ecstatic. In part because Jeffrey had wrapped priority mail envelopes in plain paper and mailed then first class. I commented that Uncle Jeff was being sneaky when we opened then, and Riley love the idea of Uncle Jeff being sneaky. We talked about that for days.

And he loves the towels. After his bath, he insists of using "a blue towel that Uncle Jeff gave me." At first we tried to explain that they really weren't for after bath use, but eventaually we gave up. It made him so happy to use them. So we wrap it around his waist and put a regular towel over it.
