Letterboxing on Nantucket

It's been a while since we've been letterboxing. The last time we went, the kids were kind of unenthusiastic about it. Maybe they were cranky that day, or there was too much walking, but either way it might have contributed to the hiatus. We had an open day near the end of our stay on Nantucket, and we've had good luck "treasure hunting" there in the past, so we decided it would be fun to do. It didn't disappoint - we had a great time and wished we had gone earlier in the trip.

Maura got the ball rolling by digging online and finding a couple promising clues on our side of the island. The first lead us to an old boat in dry dock on Milestone road. It was as the hint described: "Bound from ‘Sconset town, making no headway against a sea of grass."

The next one was out in Quidnet, and lead us to a cool labyrinth besides someone's driveway. Megan has been into mazes recently - she had me draw her one just the night before - so she was really into walking through the shell and stone design. The letterbox also had a "take one, leave one" treasure box with some cool stuff in it. Unfortunately we didn't have anything to leave, so we couldn't participate.
