We visited his classroom yesterday and met his teachers. The classroom is bright and filled with many familiar Montessori materials. Riley wouldn't look at his new teacher, but he is excited about going to preschool.
He cried when we dropped him off, but was quite happy when I picked him up. He is learning about smooth and bumpy rocks this week. His teachers said he had a great first day: he did well following directions, he ate his lunch.
Apparently he didn't talk much, although it may be that they just didn't hear him. He whispers when I pick him up and it takes about 10 minutes to get him back to regular volume.
