Slab of Wood

Some years ago, I made myself a wrist rest holder for the computer. It was just a rectangular piece of hardboard; the keyboard sat on the top half, leaving room for the wrist rest so it wouldn't fall off the desk. That computer is long gone, but I've since repurposed the hardwood to serve as a lap protector, since my laptop can get pretty hot.

Megan regularly absconds with it so she can do art projects while sitting on her rocking chair. The "slab of wood", as we call it, recently also started going to work with Maura. She puts it over the bathroom sink so she can put her laptop on it and compute while pumping.

Given that now more than half the family was using it, I decided to make another one, since my lap was getting hot and the old one was covered with marker. I had some plexiglass left over from our former TV stand, so I chopped that up to make two new slabs of "wood". The kids are using them as I type, so the new model seems to be a hit.
