Riley is Exhausted

It is getting harder and harder to get Riley to take a nap on the weekends even though he still needs one. He is very good at disappearing down to the playroom after lunch and playing quietly by himself. By the time we realize that we haven't started his nap it is generally to late to bother. Or he just lets himself out of his room after 40 minutes and announces that he is all done sleeping.

On the days that Riley doesn't nap the early evenings are tough, since he is to tired to roll with anything and tends towards tears and tantrums. This evening, with no nap and a big outing to the pumpkin patch he was beat. We pushed through dinner and bath-time as quickly as possible, but not quickly enough. Bryan took Riley out of the tub, wrapped him in a towel and set him down on floor. In the 30 seconds later it took Bryan to get a pullup from the bathroom, Riley fell sound asleep.
In fact, he stayed asleep while Bryan put his pajamas on. I couldn't believe it.
