How much was that tomato?

This afternoon the kids and I met up with the new family who moved onto our street and walked to the community farm. I'd been wanting to check it out and since there was a special kids activity this evening, tonight seemed like the time to go.

Megan and Riley had a good time doing their craft and I got to taste some amazing cucumbers - including a lemon cucumber shaped liked a ball. I decided to buy some corn to have for dinner and Megan had her heart set on taking home a massive tomato. When the guy rung up the sale, I did a double take. Turns out Megan's tomato was $5. Yup, five dollars. Here is what a $5 dollar tomato looks like:
In the picture, it looks like a small pumpkin. I wish I could tell you what it tastes like, but we were so focused on the corn, we forgot to eat it. It will have to wait for tomorrow.

The corn was tasty, but young. Riley went to town on it, eating 4 (four!) ears of corn. Megan ate only one ear, with the kernels cut off, because her wobbly tooth was bothering her, a complaint that she has had all summer. But during dinner, she showed us how wobbly the tooth was. And my God, that tooth is seriously ready to fall out.
I would not be surprised at all if she started kindergarten with a gap in her smile.

Please tell Megan that Grammie thinks that little girls shouldn't go around losing teeth!
