Let the Rain Come In

We have made it to Nantucket, safe and sound.

This trip will probably be our last on the fast ferry, now that we have to buy Megan a ticket; it is getting too expensive to justify the speed.  The regular ferry takes twice as long, but is half the price.

While I'll miss the the brevity of the trip (unlike Bryan, I don't count getting on the ferry as the start of the vacation, although I do count it as the beginning of the long trip home), I beginning to think I won't mind the change.  Whenever it is stormy, like today and many other days along the Atlantic, I get rather seasick.  Less speed might make for  more enjoyable trip.

And speaking of storms, within the hour of our arrival, the skies opened up, I think with the remains of Berta or maybe the beginning of Cristobal.  There was a prodigious amount of rain, which I thought was glorious.  I stood on the porch to watch for a while, but hand to stop because it was cold and Riley was insisting on joining me.

According to the forecast, it is going to be rainy for much of out time on the island.  But we don't mind.  At this point a rainy week is a novelty, we can have beach perfect weather at home.
