Grasshopper in the House

We recently hired a housecleaner to come in twice a month to do the heavy cleaning (bathrooms, floors, dusting, etc) and she comes Friday morning, at 7:30 a.m.  Which is not a big deal, unless you don't finish clearing up the clutter Thursday night.  And in addition to the mass tidy-up, we also had to get the kids dressed, fed, and pack a lunch for Megan.

In the midst of all the chaos, Bryan found a grasshopper in the kitchen.  And what follows is one of the many reasons why I'm glad that the kids and I have him in our lives.

Instead of ignoring the grasshopper or quickly getting it our of the house (either of which I probably would have done), he stopped to call Megan in and pulled out the bug magnifier box he has kept from his childhood so they could look at it together.  Piles of clutter be-damned.  I wish I were as capable of remembering to take time for the really important stuff.
