Call Back

Riley's allergist, Dr. M., just called with the results from Riley's chest X-ray.  The news is not good.  Not bad, but not good.

There is some puffiness in the peribronchial region and some consolidation in the upper lungs. Apparently these things are not uncommon in kids with asthma, but generally one would expect the child be symptomatic (e.g. have a cough) while these things were seen in the lungs. And Riley didn't have any symptoms when he had the X-ray.  Still doesn't.

Dr. M. thinks that it may have too soon after his last attack and the next X-ray (yes, there will be another X-ray) will be clear.  We are going to wait two months, get another X-ray and check in with him.

Oh, and he said not to worry.  Which is one of those crazy things that doctors like to say to the parents of sick children.
