Withdrawal

I submitted the paperwork to withdraw Megan from her school this morning. Because her preschool program is part of a large daycare center that runs year round, we are required to give 60 days notice if we want to take her out. Her last day of preschool will be 20 June.

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing.  I love the idea of the three-year montessori cycle and I wish she could stay in Montessori for the last leadership year.  But even if we had all the money in the world, I couldn't leave her in that classroom for another year.

It isn't teachers or the kids, but the stupid required nap time in the afternoon. It is such a waste of Megan's time and it messes up her sleeping at home. So I'll be glad to be done with that, and I suspect that Megan will be too.  Although, I think she is going to really miss some of her friends.  Hopefully we will be able to keep in touch with that matter most to her.

I still don't know when we will be leaving for our summertime visit.  The plane tickets are still quite high.  I'm hoping as we get closer to the summer, they might drop a little. But this way we have the option of leaving at the end of June if it turns out to be too expensive to fly in the beginning of July.
