Strike!

I'm working from the NY office this week, and as it happens my visit coincided with an offsite to a local bowling alley. I wasn't aware there were any bowling alleys in the city, but three blocks or so away and there it was. It's the only bowling alley I've heard of that requires an elevator to get to it. There were actually two floors of lanes, and another floor of pool tables and karaoke. There's a picture of it on the right - the music was loud, the lanes were blue, the pins were various florescent colors and "The Big Lebowski" was playing above each lane.

Anyway, the last set of the night I must have been channelling someone with much better bowling skills than I normally have, because I got a 198! Seven strikes and three spares - as one of the guys I was playing with pointed out, I left just two pins standing the whole set. I'll likely never bowl that well again, so I took a picture to commemorate:
