The flight was pretty awful. Riley so overtired and over simulated, we couldn't get him to sleep for the loooooongest time. And when he was asleep, he didn't want to be held, he wanted to be flat, lying across our laps. My calves are sill sore from the tip-toe sitting I needed to do to keep my thighs flat enough for him to sleep on.
But enough complaining about the flight. It was worth it to get here. It is so nice to be home. I've missed the landscape, narrow streets, brick buildings, things that are actually old rather than "California old". It is soothing to my eyes.
For the most part, it was a lost day, albeit a lost day in good company. Both kids took long naps mid-day. Riley in a crib, Megan on the couch, although Megan was as much off the couch as on it for much of her nap. How she sleeps in those positions is a mystery. My mom took a picture. I'll post it when she gets it off her camera. I catnapped when I could. And all three of us went to bed early.
Since both kids were up by 7 am this morning, I think we are officially on East Coast time.
