X-Ray

I took Riley to get his chest X-Ray today.  His allergist wanted to get a baseline scan - I guess it is now part of standard care for asthmatics.

We were in an out fairly quickly, but the actual acquiring of the X-Ray was not good.  They put him in this medieval torture tube to keep him still.  (Here is another link with a better picture.) He did not like it at all, although he calmed down after I started signing nursery rhymes.  (My children are probably the only people on the planet who enjoy my signing voice.)

I really hope that the picture came out well, because I do not want to go through that again.

Oh the poor child! I do hope that the exposure was satisfactory!

After reading the radiology blog, I am really annoyed by the whole experience. They didn't try anything else before they put him in the tube. Riley, like Megan, is unusually co-operative with doctors. There was a better than average chance he would have stayed still.

The next time we have to get a chest film, I am going to insist that we try him on the table first.

Let's hope there's not a next time -- or if it has to happen, he's old enough to understand.
