I have a fondness for Leap Years. I like the fact that the leap day manages to set the calendar back on track while shaking it up at the same time. Pretty impressive for a mere 24 hours.
Today also would have been our second anniversary, if I had prevailed in my plea for elopement so many years ago.
I took Megan out of school at lunch time so we could something fun with our extra day. It was one of those times that I wished Riley could make due without a nap, so we weren't stuck in the house. Or sleep in his stroller without throwing a screaming fit first. But since he naps reliably now, I'm not willing to mess with it.
Megan really, really wanted to make lemonade. So we bought a boatload of lemons and squeezed out lemon juice sporadically thought out the afternoon. We may try to set her up with a lemonade stand tomorrow. Although I don't think she really understands enough about money to make it work. (Her initial price for a glass of lemonade as $15. Maybe in Manhattan that would fly, but since lemons actually do grow on trees out here, we told her a quarter would be better.)
It wasn't the most exciting day. But a pretty nice day none the less.
