In the morning, I took the Yogalates (combo of Yoga and Pilates) class at the Y this morning. I discoverd muscles (very, very weak muscles) that I didn't know I had. I'm definitely going to make it a regular part of my exercise routine.
In the afternoon, I took both kids back to the Y so I could take Megan to the Family Yoga class (for kids 5-13 with a parent). I dropped Riley off in ChildWatch, but since I had used most of my allotment in the morning, I had to pay to leave him. I only point that out because, Family Yoga was so not worth the extra $10 in child care.
Megan didn't want to follow the teacher, she just wanted to sit in my lap, or climb all over me when we were doing poses. And about 2/3 of the way through the class, she just went off to the back of the room to sit by herself. In retrospect, we should have left the class then.
I talked to the teacher after class a bit. He said that for kids her age it generally takes 4 or more weeks to become comfortable and have a longer attention span. I suspect that if we kept at it, it might get better. But I'm not planning to go back in the near future. I asked Megan what her favorite part of class was, and she replied, "No part."
