I biked over with Riley to see what was left. But sadly, the sale was over. (Not surprising as it was a cool windy day.) There was, however, a rather nice looking entertainment center sitting out on the sidewalk. If I hadn't had Riley on the back of the bike, I would have rung the bell to see if it was still available.
Flash forward to the evening when a post on our neighborhood mailing list indicated that it had been donated to the tag sale, but they weren't able to sell it and needed it removed from their front lawn. Long story short, we now have a new TV cabinet.
This video if from this morning, as I was trying to clean a few spots before we started putting stuff in.
I'm not sure if Megan's desire to clean is from her Montessori training, or just genetic good luck. And notice, that Megan populated one of the shelves with her "kids."
Bryan spent the better part of the morning taking apart the AV equipment and reassembling it in the new-to-us cabinet. The bench that used to house such items is now in the playroom, to be used for art projects.
Here is a picture of it all set up:
It doesn't actually match any of our other furniture, but then none of our furniture matches. The nice thing is that, these days, we don't have to cop to being cheap. We can tell people we are environmentally conscious and reuse rather than consume. It sounds much nicer that way.
