Sing a Song

Last week I was guilted into agreeing to do a song for multicultural week at Megan's school.  When I told this to Bryan, he looked at me and said, "They asked you to sing?" Fair point.  Not so good at holding a tune am I.  And they didn't really ask me to sing, is is just that was the last spot to fill and all of the other parents were better at avoiding Ms. V's eye.

However, even more than singing, I have been stressing about picking a song.  In this area of immense ethic diversity, our little family is just a bunch of boring Americans.  But more I though about it, I realized that our cultural identify is New Englander, with all of the yankee starchiness that implies.

I briefly thought of doing Yankee Doodle Dandy, but really didn't capture what I was looking for.  So right now, the choices are Charlie on the M.T.A or I'm a Member of the Red Sox Nation.  If you have a better idea, let me know soon.  I go up Thursday at 9:30 am PDT.

I think that Yankee Doodle would be the easiest to sing, in a pinch.
