Return To The Little Gym

I finally got around to signing Megan up for Gymnastics class.

I had hoped to do it when we first arrived, but the closest Little Gym was in Mountain View and I really didn't feel like schlepping out there every week. The Sunnyvale gym opened at the end of January, but by then it felt less urgent. I was hoping that she had forgotten about it.

But Megan had a little nutty last week when she found out that her brother was going to a class at the Y and she wasn't. "You never let me go to classes," she wailed. And it is a little bit true. She wants to go to gym class, ballet class, drama class, art class, soccer class, etc.

It felt a tiny bit like caving, but I reasoned that if we were still in NY, she would be going to gymnastics. And she really does love it. It was a joy to see her in a leotard, prancing around the gym. She was so happy.

Riley, on the other hand, whined through most of Megan's class. He desperately wanted to go in and join the fun. He used to do OK in the waiting room in NY, but he was younger, and it was a little harder for him to see into the gym.

I think I may change her class time so Riley can stay home. They have a class at 6:15 p.m. (she is currently signed up for 3:45 p.m.) that we might try. It seems a little late and logistically challenging. But it might be worth it to avoid the inevitable Riley tantrum every week.
