Easter is here, and candy is in the air. The Easter Bunny (EB) was quite generous this year. As far as I can tell, the children have just about eaten their weight in chocolate. I know studies don't support the "sugar = hyperactive kids" theory, but Megan was literally bouncing off the walls and furniture for some time this morning. Apparently it's a game she learned at school. After the kids polished off most of their baskets, we went outside for an Easter egg hunt. Here EB was also quite generous (or over-enthusiastic, take your pick), as there were about 75 eggs scattered around our backyard for the two kids. So many, in fact, that we had to stop halfway through for a break and come back to it later. By the time we did get back there were at least three fewer eggs, as the local squirrels had decided to participate in the hunt in our absence.
Before dinner we also got a chance to color some eggs. Three dozen eggs, actually, which is a bit problematic given that we aren't really a big egg-eating family. Regardless, it was still fun to decorate the eggs and stain the countertop. We had some friends over for dinner, and Maura made a nice ham.
