Gavin , One Month

Today Gavin is a month old. And he is finally starting to wake up. He still sleeps a lot during the day, but he has become more baby-like in that he is fussy in the early evenings now.

Oh, and since he wanted to fit in with his brother and sister, he managed to acquire his very own cold. He has been congested for a couple of weeks now, but recently has added periodic gasping, coughing, and choking to his repertoire. I took him to see the pediatrician yesterday to get checked out. She agreed that Gavin is quite congested, but since his lungs are fine, we just have to wait it out.

I did get a new bulb syringe out of it (fat lot of good that will do, I can never get them to work) and the chance to do a weight check on the Gavinator. He weighed in at 9lbs, 12oz. So in a month, he gained just over three pounds. Not quite Riley's record of 4 lbs in the first month, but completely respectable. Especially when you take into account that he was asleep most of the time.

It is nice to have him be more awake. And pretty soon we should be getting some social smiles. I'm looking forward to those.
