OB Visit 6 weeks (Post Partum)

I saw Dr. M. today for my post baby check-up. I've got to get a new OB/GYN. This guy drives me bananas.

He asked me about the labor, which makes sense, since he wasn't there at the time. I told him it was very fast. And he said, "Oh, so it was spontaneous labor." Umm, no. Not at all.

Yet again, he seemed to have no idea who I was. I don't harbor under any illusion that I am his only patient. Or his most important. But I like to believe that a good practitioner would start of their day familiarizing themselves with the patients they are going to see.

Anyway, I'm fine. Everything is as it should be. My blood pressure is OK. I'll have to do a follow-up test for the GD, but since they didn't have a lab slip for me I'll have to check with the endocrinologist's office. Good news is that I don't have to go back until 2011. I am so done with going to the doctor, for myself at least.

Since we were in the building (and I am all about consolidating trips these days) I picked up Megan's slip for her pre-op labs and I took her to get a blood draw. She still hates getting poked, but a lollipop during the procedure and a promise of ice cream afterwards got us through it. But I hate seeing her so distressed. I am thinking about asking for a script for EMLA cream next time she needs a shot/blood draw.

This was my first big outing with all three kids. It wasn't a bad start and I'll only get better at it from here.
