Last Day of Kindergarten

Today was Megan's last day of kindergarten. We all walked her to school, just as we did for her first day ten months ago.

It was a short day, although not quite as short as her first day, but the students were released at 12:15. We had been warned that the kids might be emotional, so I arranged to pick Megan up myself and walk her to her after school program (it is her last day there too and they were having a celebration as well). I'm glad I did. Megan was OK - I think she got all of her sadness out yesterday. But she left Kindergarten with a giant paper bag of materials that was so large she couldn't quite carry it herself.

I have to figure out a way to share her work with everyone. She came home with, among other things, a memory book that has samples of projects that her class worked on as well as a series of self portraits that Megan drew through out the year. I love seeing the progress in her drawing through the school year.

I was also given a copy of her report card. It is official, Megan is promoted to first grade! But we won't know who her teacher is until just before the start of the school year in August.

Oh, she looks just like a 1st grader!! Looking back, you can see how nervous (but proud) she was and in this photo, she looks confident and happy.

And, I think, looking at her face, she is getting ready to loose her two top teeth!!
