We dressed Riley up in the uniform that I had been carting around all season - the child it was meant for never showed up. Riley liked it, although the length of the shirt was bugging him a little. Megan thought it was a wonderful joke and she desperately wanted Riley to play on the field with her. He looked really cute, and everyone loved it.
As for me, even more than Megan, I was counting down the minutes until we were done. This soccer season was such a painful experience. It wasn't a total wash, we got a tip that lend to good take-away Chinese Food, but so not what I had hoped for.
At the very least, we know what not to do next time. Introducing your child to a sport by way of a league that uses volunteer amateur coaches is a mistake. When we are ready to try soccer again, we are going to go a diferent route.
