Today was graduation day at Megan's school. There was a ceremony followed by a potluck lunch.
First the children sang a song about their feelings:
Then they sang "A You're Adorable."
Then they sang "I've been working on my Preschool" (to the tune of I've been working on the railroad)
After the songs, the graduates each walked up to the front of the classroom and Miss Anne, the director, gave each child their certificate and the children made a personal statement. Megan is being a little camera shy and that cackle you hear in the background is Riley, trying to horn in on the action.
All of the girls want to be princesses when they grow up and all of the boys want to be astronauts.
After the ceremony we had a potluck lunch. Riley took advantage of the gap between the two to get his hands on as many of the Montessori materials as possible. After he started flinging the dried corn kernels (used in a counting exercise) Bryan decided to take him home. And I stayed with Megan for the luncheon.
I'm going to miss the potluck lunches at her school. The other parents bring is such great food, handmade spring rolls and homemade pouri and chinese noodles.
