Dropping off the Kids

This week was Maura's first full week at her new job, and I've taken over bringing the kids to school in the morning.

I try to get them in motion at 7:45, which lets me drop Riley off at about 7:55 and Megan around 8:05. So far it has gone pretty well.

Riley from the start has been seemingly either indifferent or excited about me leaving him at school. They have a bunch of toys there, and with the exception of Friday he's been playing and chipper when we say goodbye. He is always the first one to school, Maura says the next round of kids start rolling in about 20 minutes later.

Megan's drop off has also been going well. We drive around the block to her school and park, and I walk her to the playground where they play until the second bell.

I arrive a little later at work than I used to, but otherwise it's been a pretty smooth transition.
