Twice at the Pumpkin Patch

Riley's class had a field trip to a "pumpkin patch" (actually and empty lot with pumpkins and a lot of bounce houses) today.  Since I haven't started work yet I was able to go as a chaperone.
Riley had fun.  He picked out his pumpkin very quickly and carried it around while he looked at the other pumpkins.  And then after all the kids had enough time to pick out pumpkins they class moved on to the giant bounce houses.  And then they had a snack of juice boxes and halloween cookies.  Riley picked a spider-shaped one with black sprinkles and looked like a little goth.

Here is a picture of Riley's class:

This isn't a complete picture.  There are three kids missing.  One classmate was actually there, but wouldn't leave her mother to be in the picture.  The other two kids skipped the field trip.  But they seem like a nice group of kids.
I was very nervous that Riley would be upset when I took him back to school and left him again.  But it didn't faze him at all.  He just waved goodbye and went off to play with toys.  This is going much better then it should.  I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
When I picked Megan up after school hat afternoon, I drove her over to the same pumpkin patch so she could have a turn.  I wanted to nip the inevitable, "It's not fair" in the bud.  And I since I have this extra time, it seemed like a good way to use it.
I've got to say, the pumpkin part of this patch seems a little beside the point.  The kids just want to play in the bounce houses.  Megan loved jumping around and managed to find a little girl to play with in minutes.
