Bryan left last night for a week log trip to NY, leaving me and the kids in California.
When I expressed some misgivings about having sole responsibility for both kids for a week, Bryan reminded me that he had made this trip before and I was fine. But the he forgot that the last two times he was gone for a week, I fled to my parents house rather than be alone with the kids. Actually, it would be fair to say that pretty much every time he traveled I went to my parents house - for at least part of the time.
But day one wasn't too bad. I took the kids to the Y and Target , which ate up most of the morning. And after Riley's nap we played in the house, with a brief run over to Cupertino to pick up a bike for Megan that I scored off of freecycle.
And after that it was dinner and bed. And because it was just me, I hustled everyone into bed by 7p.m., lthough I can hear Megan goofing off in her room, so I'm not sure if that completely counts as having her put to bed. But one day down. Six more to go.
