This is one of the many reasons I like the kids' dentist. He has young children and he knows how hard it is to brush their teeth. I never get lectured about brushing there, just encouraged to do the best we can.
Anyway, we got rescheduled for this afternoon. Megan did great. They took x-rays to check for cavities and she had to do it by herself, since the staff felt that pregnant me would be safest in the waiting room. And she was excellent while the hygienist cleaned her teeth and applied a fluoride treatment.
While that was going on, Dr. K. and I chatted about childbirth. His wife delivered in the same hospital while Jellybean will be born. And then he checked Megan's teeth and mouth.
He teeth are good. There was a little bit of plaque build-up. Mostly likely due to the fact that she doesn't brush very hard. We need to work on that. And they want us to start flossing her molars, since that is an area where kids tend to get cavities. We'll see what we can do. I suspect that Megan (and Riley) would enjoy it, so I'm hoping we can get them to initiate the activity. And her tonsils are currently huge, probably due to her last bout of strep.
But it was a good visit, and Megan had a blast. She is looking forward to going back in November.
