Standby

Bryan and I (but really mostly Bryan) spent yesterday in one of the fastest baby prep sessions ever.  We got the bassinet ready, the car seats installed, the bags packed, the house tidied, care for the kids arranged in a matter of hours.  We even squeezed in a quick shopping trip to buy an outfit to bring the baby home in.

We are fairly certain that after our appointment today with Dr. M. we were going to be sent directly to the hospital.  But he was fairly pleased by my merely high blood pressure (135/82) and the fact that I did well at home.  He decided to repeat the lab work from last week to see if there had been any changes.

But the lab work wasn't reassuring.  And the perinatologist he consulted on our behalf agreed - induction was the way to go.  The hitch has been that the hospital has no room for us.  We have been waiting since noon for a spot to open up.

So no baby today.  We'll have to see what tomorrow brings.
